Next up! Lynette Wardle is an orchestra harpist, chamber musician, recording artist, and soloist. She has been recognized for her “refined tone production and spot-on rhythmic sense.” In addition to being the principal harpist of both the Richmond Symphony and the Albany Symphony, she performs regularly with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the New York City Ballet. Lynette is in the orchestra for the new Broadway musical The Notebook. She has held several Broadway orchestra chairs including the revival of Camelot at Lincoln Center Theatre. She was also the harpist for the national tour of the Tony award-winning musical Light in the Piazza, and played for the City Center production of this same show at Encores!. For the holiday seasons, she has been in the orchestra for A Christmas Story, the Musical, and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. We had such an incredible time at our Hannah Cope Johnson-weekend this past week! On Friday she wowed an audience full of harpists with inspiring musicality and virtuosity in a recital of music celebrating the harp and opera at @meiselgallery before sharing her deep understanding of a large breadth of repertoire teaching four wonderful young harpists during a Saturday morning masterclass on the Upper West Side. We spent a snowy Saturday on the Upper West Side for our Valentine's Day Harp Ensemble Concert. We started by loading in twelve lever and pedal harps followed by tuning up, rehearsing our harp ensemble repertoire, enjoying cookies and pizza, and giving a performance of seven love-themed pieces. All of the performers demonstrated enthusiasm, dedication, and beautiful playing! Congratulations to all of the performers and thank you to our lovely audience for making this such a special day!
