FAQs

What is MetroHarp?

MetroHarp is the American Harp Society’s local chapter for the New York Metropolitan Area.

Why should I become a member?

Members get attendance at members-only events, early-bird access to masterclasses, workshops, and concerts, discounted or free entry to ticketed MetroHarp events, inclusion in our Teacher Directory, features on our event calendar and social media accounts, student participation in group recitals, student participation in masterclasses, student or individual participation in harp ensemble, and access to all of MetroHarp’s resources.

Why are there dues?

Your dues make it so we can bring in guest artists and compensate them fairly, rent venues, cover day-to-day operating expenses, sponsor event proposals, and continue to offer special access to our events.

How do I become a member?

To become a regular member of MetroHarp you must be a member of the American Harp Society. If you are not a member, you can sign up here: https://www.harpsociety.org/membership. Once you are a member of the AHS, come back to the “Join/Renew Membership” page of our website here where you can complete your application process by paying your dues.

If you would like to become a student or family member of MetroHarp you do not have to belong to the American Harp Society and can go directly to our “Join/Renew Membership” page here to pay your dues.

How can I get involved?

We always appreciate more help to keep MetroHarp running smoothly! To get involved, send us an email metroharpchapter@gmail.com with “Volunteer” in the subject line.
